Which type do I need?
Window mount fits an existing glass or panel cut-out and is the simplest swap. Wall propeller mounts through an external wall and moves the most air, which is why it suits kitchens and workshops; auto-shutter versions close when the fan stops, keeping dust and heat out. Ceiling mount ducts through a false ceiling and is the quiet choice for bathrooms. In-line duct fans sit inside the ducting itself when the fan cannot be mounted at the opening.
What size?
Match the fan to the room, not the opening. A typical UAE bathroom needs 6–8 inches; a kitchen handling daily cooking wants 10–12 inches, because grease and steam load the fan harder. Measure your existing cut-out before ordering — replacing like-for-like avoids cutting tile or blockwork.
Installation
A like-for-like replacement onto an existing opening and supply is straightforward once the circuit is isolated. A new opening, or any fan wired into a new circuit, should be done by a licensed electrician.
