Flood Lights

Shop LED floodlights for UAE driveways, gardens, compound walls, car parks, yards and building facades — Philips and Ledvance, from 30W up to 200W, all 230V bracket-mount fittings on an adjustable yoke.

Watts or lumens — which number matters?

Watts tell you what the fitting consumes; lumens tell you how much light it puts out. Compare on lumens where the figure is published — the Philips SmartBright G5 200W is rated at 20,000 lumens — because a modern LED floodlight will outperform an older halogen of far higher wattage. As a rough guide, 30W to 50W covers a doorway, a gate or a short garden run; 70W to 100W handles a driveway, a parking bay or a small yard; 150W to 200W is for wide facades, compound perimeters and open commercial ground.

Will it hold up outdoors here?

Most of the range is marked IP65, which means dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction — the level usually wanted for an exposed wall or pole in Gulf dust and humidity. Mounting under a soffit or eave keeps direct sun off the housing and helps the driver run cooler through summer.

Where should the beam point?

Floodlights throw a wide beam. Aim below the horizontal so the light lands on ground or wall rather than into a neighbour's window or an approaching driver's eyes, and mount high enough that the glare sits above eye level.

Outdoor circuits live or die on weatherproof termination and earthing — have a licensed electrician make the connection.
