What does Brennenstuhl actually make?
Extension leads and boards — 3-way and 5-way in 3m and 5m, including Premium Line multistandard versions taking both UK and European pins. Cable reels — the Garant range in steel and PVC, IP44 outdoor drums, 110V CEE site reels in 25m and 50m, and automatic-rewind drums at 9+2m and 16+2m. Inspection lamps — a 60W hand lamp on 5m of cable for vehicle and plant work. Many lines carry Made in Germany marking.
Which cable type do I need?
H05VV-F is PVC-sheathed flexible cable, intended for indoor and light workshop use. H07RN-F is rubber-sheathed and tougher against abrasion, heat and oil — the choice for construction sites and outdoor runs. The 110V CEE reels serve reduced-voltage site tools and deliberately will not accept a 230V plug, so order them only for a site running a 110V transformer supply.
Reel or lead for the job?
Indoors a fixed-length lead is simpler and cheaper; reels earn their place where the run varies — sites, gardens, workshops. Check the drum label first: reels carry two current ratings — a reduced figure while the cable is wound on, the full figure once it is run right out.
