An axial panel fan moves air along the axis of its shaft and mounts into the wall or door of an electrical enclosure, stopping heat from drives and control gear building up inside. It is usually paired with a filtered exit vent, and a thermostat can switch it only when the internal temperature rises. Fans are selected by cut-out size — 92mm, 119mm and 176mm frames are common — by supply voltage, and by airflow against the panel's heat load. Filter media need periodic cleaning, since a blocked filter cuts airflow before anything else shows a symptom.
