Spiral wrap is a length of polyethylene cut into a continuous spiral. Wound around a group of cables it pulls them into a single tidy loom and puts a sacrificial layer between the insulation and whatever it rubs against. It is used behind desks and entertainment units, inside control panels, and on any moving or flexing bundle where cables would otherwise chafe. Nothing is cut or disconnected to fit it, and no clips, screws or tools are involved.
How much wrap do I need?
Spiral wrap uses more length than the run it covers, because it turns as it goes. As a rough guide allow noticeably more than the straight-line distance, and pick a nominal diameter that sits close to the bundle you are binding: too wide and it slides, too narrow and it will not close around the cables. This listing covers a range of sizes, so match the size to the bundle rather than the room.
Can it be taken off later?
Yes. Spiral wrap unwinds by hand, so a cable can be added or pulled out and the wrap reused. That makes it a better choice than permanent bundling anywhere the loom is likely to change.
